Diving into "a world with no boundaries", tech-savvy students from PEC University of Technology are all set to inspire young school students through their next technology fest. The budding engineers plan to give a "human face to technical innovations" through interesting themes of events and displaying technology that is useful for common people.

Welcome to the world of Vyom-2013, the annual technology fest of PEC which is creating a buzz on the PEC campus with over 250 students actively involved in its preparation and a core team of 50 comprising heads of various teams.

What makes the Vyom team different is the segment "Vyom for kids" being introduced to reach out to schoolchildren across the region and inspire them to study science and technology in the future.

The grand fest will take place from March 13 to 15, 2013, however the pre-fest events start in February 2013, and the Vyom marketing brochure has already been released.
"Vyom is all set to expand its horizon and motivate hundreds of enthusiastic school students to come up with innovative and interesting ideas in its pre-fest event. From scholarship for bright students to fun events, the idea it to evoke interest," says Jasmine, a final year student and president of PEC Vyom team.

"Schoolkids will be made to solve problems related to the city and encouraged to come up with interesting solutions. The best ones will be awarded. We are still working on the problem questions for students. A junkyard contest is also being organized for schoolchildren," says Mohit Garg, a final year CSE student at PEC.

Interesting workshops, including those on ethical hacking, Androids, along with 3-D shows will be a part of the fest. "The biggest surprise this time at PEC technical fest shall be an auto-exhibition showing best of bikes and cars of top brands. This will be a zero profit event and a crowd puller for us. A technical expo will also be a part of the event with interesting gadgets of top brands at display," says Eesha Devgan, a final year student and part of Vyom team.

Getting the best of entertainers in the country for this show, the students have invited the winning team of a reality show to perform at the fest. "The dance group complete with their 3-D attire will customize their performance according to the theme of technical fest and give special performances," adds Lakshaya Garg, a team member.

"Re-wind" is another interesting event at the fest where students will collecting waste paper from across the city, re-cycling it to make registers and notebooks.
"As a part of our social responsibility, we will give these recycled notebooks to underprivileged children. We target to collect 1,500kg of waste paper and provide zero cost notebooks," says Prakhar, a final year student.

Highlighting the emphasis on the usage of renewable source of energy, Vyom team member Sidhanth stated, "A lot of emphasis is being laid on renewable sources of energy since the city is being projected as 'solar city."

Meanwhile, creating an interesting logo of a robot with a gigantic face for the fest, Saurabh Sinha has mixed creativity with technology and Vyom's vision.
